🏆 53rd “Coppa d’Oro” Competition
2023 Flavor: Water-Based Dark Chocolate
A historic competition returns, challenging gelato makers to craft the best water-based dark chocolate gelato. This year’s edition will also honor past winners and pay tribute to Armido Bellese, the very first winner in 1970, who passed away this year.
❄️ “A Gelato for the Olympics”
New for 2023 – Sunday, November 26
This original competition invites artisan gelato makers to create a flavor that captures the spirit and values of the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, promoting the excellence and creativity of the profession.
🍧 “Granita in Sicilia Festival”
The Best Granita Contest
A special contest to crown the best original granita—whether water- or milk-based—created by professional gelato makers working in Italy or abroad. An authentic tribute to Sicilian tradition with a modern twist.
👪 “Mastri Gelatieri” Award – 26th Edition
Honoring Families that Represent Gelato Excellence
Reserved for families or individuals who have made outstanding contributions to promoting and enhancing Italian artisan gelato abroad. The award will be presented during the official opening ceremony of MIG 2023.
🌱 “MIG Green” Award 2023
