Longarone, November 4, 2022 – On Friday, November 4, the General Assembly of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti took place, where the renewal of the Board of Directors was on the agenda. Michele Dal Farra was elected as the new President, proposed by the Province of Belluno and selected through an open call for expressions of interest. Joining him on the new Board are Chiara Bortolas from the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno, and newly elected members Alberto Bortoluzzi from the Municipality of Longarone, Veronica De Lorenzi from the Unione Montana Cadore Longaronese Zoldo, and Claudio Olivier from the Pro Loco of Longarone.
In his acceptance speech, Michele Dal Farra thanked former President Gian Angelo Bellati, acknowledging the tremendous responsibility of continuing the extraordinary work Bellati had done to bring Longarone Fiere Dolomiti to where it is today. Dal Farra highlighted the transformation of the exhibition market, which began before COVID-19, where smaller businesses were moving toward larger aggregations. The pandemic, Dal Farra noted, deeply affected the revenues of service businesses and, more importantly, the relationships with key stakeholders. "We face this new challenge with optimism, knowing that Longarone Fiere is a piece of this province’s history. It has helped many small and medium-sized companies grow, and we are ready to build the next chapter of its future as gloriously as it has been in the past."
In his farewell address, former President Gian Angelo Bellati shared his reflections on the past four years, stating, "This experience has enriched me professionally, but it has also enriched me on a human level, with the wonderful relationships I’ve built with the people of this region. This fair is also beautiful, and I am happy to pass the baton to a person I consider the most suitable for this moment, because of his experience, abilities, and optimistic, constructive approach—which is essential. The fair must endure; even if we make mistakes, Longarone Fiere Dolomiti is vital for attracting intelligence, knowledge, and investments, and combating the depopulation issue that is so critical in this area of Belluno. I leave this experience with immense joy. Some fairs are truly heart-driven, not just financially. This is the strength of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, and I am thrilled to have completed these years, learning so much, but I will continue my relationships with the people here, including the new President, to whom I wish every success for the benefit of this beautiful region and its wonderful people."
