Longarone, December 7, 2022 – According to the President of the Province of Belluno and Mayor of Longarone, Roberto Padrin, "MIG remains the leading exhibition for artisanal gelato, and once again, Longarone Fiere proved to be the perfect venue to bring together operators from this vast world, which is worth almost 1 billion euros in Italy alone (out of the 2 billion euros generated by the overall gelato industry, according to the latest data from Cgia di Mestre). Excellent feedback was received from the exhibiting companies. Visitor numbers were also impressive, with many attending the stands over the four days. These results motivate us to continue promoting the product and supporting the artisans who have been preserving this great Made in Italy and Made in Belluno tradition for decades."
The MIG 2022 coordinator, Dario Olivier, also expressed surprise at the high quality and quantity of the event. "MIG 2022 was marked by a strong recovery. The gelato world reunited in Longarone for the 62nd edition, with visitors from all over Europe, mainly from Germany and Austria. Longarone has always carefully supported the entire gelato supply chain: producers, gelato makers, and the general public, who were given access to the pavilion on Sunday. Visitors also had the chance to actively contribute to the success of MIG. There was a great deal of activity at the fair, where various topics related to sustainability were discussed. Alongside the companies, we provided concrete solutions on environmental sustainability, energy savings, and cost savings. Given the positive results of these four days, we are confident about approaching MIG 2023 with a very optimistic outlook."
These expectations are also supported by the many exhibiting companies that have already expressed their intention to return next year. Some have already confirmed participation through 2024.
