SIGEP 2025: maximum effort to ease traffic impact in Rimini

To ensure smooth access to the exhibition center and reduce the impact on local traffic, the City of Rimini and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) have launched a series of initiatives for SIGEP 2025.

The event, running from January 18 to 22, will feature a new opening time—10:00 AM instead of 9:30—to ease urban mobility. Public transport and railway lines have been reinforced, with over 50 daily trains stopping at RiminiFiera Station.

Special Transport Plan for SIGEP 2025 Visitors

Rimini, January 15, 2025 – A record-breaking edition of SIGEP 2025, the 46th International Trade Show for Artisan Gelato, Pastry, Bakery, Coffee, and Pizza, is expected to attract thousands of visitors and exhibitors from around the world. In anticipation of this major event, and to accommodate the surge in attendance and economic impact on the local area, both IEG and the City of Rimini have implemented a comprehensive mobility plan.

New Opening Hours: SIGEP Starts at 10:00 AM

To reduce congestion during peak city traffic hours, SIGEP 2025 will open at 10:00 AM (instead of 9:30 AM). This slight delay is designed to stagger traffic flows and facilitate access to the Rimini Expo Centre without overlapping with the city’s morning rush hour.

Over 50 Daily Trains to RiminiFiera + Special SIGEP Train

Train travel will play a key role in ensuring efficient access to the fairgrounds. Each day, 26 northbound and 26 southbound trains will stop at RiminiFiera Station, operating between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Over 20% of SIGEP visitors are expected to use this service.

Additionally, the Metromare electric rapid transit line connects Rimini Central Station to Riccione in just 20 minutes, stopping at 15 key points along the coast. This makes it easier for visitors staying in Marina Centro and other beachside locations to reach the fair quickly and sustainably.

To further boost accessibility:

  • A Special SIGEP Train will run daily from Cattolica and Santarcangelo to RiminiFiera with morning departures and afternoon returns.
  • Stops include RiminiFiera, Rimini Central, Miramare, Riccione, and Misano.
  • Assistance services for disabled passengers will be available at RiminiFiera Station.
