Rimini, June 11, 2024 – Sigep, the world’s leading gelato fair, continues to grow its international presence and expand its focus on the pizza sector, which, according to recent estimates, is valued at over 153 billion dollars worldwide (source: Verified Markets Reports). For the 2025 edition, the fair will feature a fresh new look, starting with the new pay-off: “Sigep World – The World Expo for Foodservice Excellence,” emphasizing the global significance of the Rimini event, now complemented by two new satellite shows in high-potential markets such as Southern China and the Singapore area.
Organized by Italian Exhibition Group, the event will be held at the Rimini Exhibition Center from January 18 to 22, 2025. In addition to gelato, which remains the core focus, the fair will showcase the best foodservice technologies and ingredients for the pastry, pizza, bakery, and coffee industries, reaching an ever-growing community. The last edition attracted visitors from 160 countries, supported by 1,200 exhibiting brands from 35 nations. Sigep also hosted over 500 buyers from 84 countries, generating more than 5,200 business meetings.
SIGEP 2025 FOCUS
The 46th edition will maintain the five major sectors. Gelato, of course, remains the centerpiece. Sigep is, after all, the world’s top fair for gelato, featuring the most comprehensive offerings with participation from all producers across technologies, ingredients, semi-finished products, and equipment. Alongside gelato, pastry, bakery, chocolate, and coffee will also take center stage. A key new feature will be the substantial focus on pizza: Sigep World will serve as the leading platform for the product and its technologies, becoming a true reference point for the industry. Additionally, Italian Exhibition Group will expand the exhibition space with two new halls in the east area, bringing the total to 140,000 square meters, supporting the continued growth of this major event.
As always, Sigep will dedicate significant space to the most important talks across all the sectors. In particular, the opening session will focus on the latest foodservice trends, both national and international, reaffirming Sigep World as the most authoritative voice in the sector, with the launch of Sigep Vision, the global observatory on gelato and foodservice trends.
STRONG INTERNATIONAL FOCUS
IEG, in collaboration with ICE – Italian Trade Agency, attracted numerous international attendees to Rimini last January, including from Europe, the Balkans, Africa, North America, Latin America, Asia, and Southeast Asia. For the 2025 edition, the international efforts will be doubled, with a European roadshow scheduled for autumn to engage journalists and buyers, supported by the group’s regional advisors, with a special focus on importers, distributors, foodservice chains, and hospitality sectors. Regarding the individual sectors, the international arenas and competitions, which saw participation from 25 countries last January, will return.
Finally, particular attention will be paid to the latest global trends, which will be showcased at Sigep World. These will include the latest automatic coffee machine technologies, with a strong emphasis on sustainability improvements, advancements in leavened products and new trends in pastry, and, of course, the future of gelato. Sigep Rimini remains the primary catalyst for the global spread of Italian gelato culture.
