SIGEP World arrives in Singapore: the first edition of SIGEP Asia kicks off

From June 26 to 28, 2024, Italian Exhibition Group will launch the inaugural edition of SIGEP Asia, a new satellite event of SIGEP World that will bring the best of the Foodservice industry to Singapore in the sectors of Gelato, Pastry & Chocolate, Coffee, Bakery, and Pizza.

Rimini, June 21, 2024 – Italian Exhibition Group is making its mark in Asia by launching SIGEP Asia at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Singapore from June 26 to 28, 2024. This first edition of SIGEP Asia will showcase over 300 brands from Singapore and 31 countries, including Italy, Kuwait, China, Malaysia, Japan, Austria, and Mexico. SIGEP Asia represents a key milestone in SIGEP World’s internationalization strategy, consolidating its expansion plan in Southeast Asia and offering businesses a valuable platform to grow their operations. Singapore, renowned as the Food & Beverage capital of Asia, boasts a market exceeding 12 billion dollars, projected to grow at a 4.47% annual rate (CAGR 2024-2028).

Among the Italian brands participating will be key representatives from the SIGEP World community, such as Carpigiani, Casa Optima/Mec3, Fabbri1905, Gelmatic, ISA, Moretti Forni, Unox, La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Saeco, Segafredo Zanetti, Caffè Carraro, Essse Caffè, Eurovo, and Zanolli. The opening ceremony will be graced by Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Culture, Ms. Low Yen Ling, who will inaugurate SIGEP Asia, held alongside the 5th edition of Restaurant Asia – organized by IEG Asia in collaboration with the Singapore Restaurant Association – as well as Speciality Food & Drinks Asia, Speciality Coffee and Tea Asia, and Food2GO Asia. Thanks to partnerships with ICE-Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and the ASEAN Restaurant Alliance, SIGEP Asia will represent the entire Food & Beverage sector, featuring key areas such as gelato, pastry, baking, coffee, and tea.

ITALIAN GASTRONOMIC CULTURE IN MASTERCLASSES BY CHEFS AND TOP BRANDS

Throughout the three days, buyers and industry professionals will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian gastronomic culture through masterclasses led by top chefs and pastry chefs from Richemont Club Italy, the International Union of Bakers & Confectioners, Ambassadors of Italian Pastry Excellence, and the Italian Federation of Chefs. The art of gelato will be a focal point in masterclasses led by major industry players such as Carpigiani, along with Maestro Gelato Maker Eugenio Morrone, Gelato World Cup 2020 Champion and President of the Junior Pastry World Cup Jury. Maestro Pastry Chef Giuseppe Piffaretti will conduct a workshop on Panettone. The promotion of Italian Food & Beverage culture will continue in the Italian Trade Agency Lounge, where visitors can meet Italian chefs and uncover the secrets behind their craft.

THE FUTURE OF F&B AT SIGEP ASIA

SIGEP Asia aims to shape the future of the Food & Beverage sector, dedicating seminars and meetings to topics such as Technology and Sustainability, as well as Corporate Culture & Leadership, including the RAS Leadership Symposium led by Will Scott. Additionally, Food & Beverage industry experts will gather for a roundtable hosted by the International Food & Beverage Association. Cutting-edge technologies in the Ho.re.ca. sector will be showcased in the Technology & Innovation Pavilion and the Sandbox, a special area where visitors can explore revolutionary and eco-friendly solutions for the foodservice industry.

COFFEE INDUSTRY COMPETITIONS

During SIGEP Asia, the Singapore National Coffee Championships will also take place, hosted by the Singapore Coffee Association. This year’s competitions include: the Singapore National Barista Championship (SNBC), the Singapore National Brewers Cup (SNBRC), the Singapore National Latte Art Championship (SLAC), and the Singapore Cup Tasters Competition (SCTC). The winner will represent Singapore at the 2025 World Barista Championship.
