Longarone, November 18, 2022 – Artisan gelato meets at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti. The most traditional and highly anticipated event dedicated exclusively to gelato returns: MIG - Mostra Internazionale del Gelato. This year, it celebrates its 62nd edition with four days of exhibitions, conferences, and competitions, running from November 27 to 30, with the first day open to the public.
The Event at a Glance
Over 130 business brands will be present at the event, representing 12 Italian regions and 11 foreign countries. Leading international players in gelato machinery, equipment, semi-finished products, raw materials, furnishings, and accessories for artisan gelaterias will confirm their participation. Attendees will include a wide range of professionals from across Europe and beyond.
For gelato enthusiasts (and those with a sweet tooth), the fair will be the perfect occasion to sample new gelato flavors introduced by gelato associations, products that will be launched in the coming months, or simply enjoy classic gelato, prepared with innovative techniques that focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. This focus on the environment, along with addressing the challenges posed by high energy costs, will be one of the most significant themes at MIG 2022.
The Innovations
The exhibition space at Longarone will feature plenty of new developments. Among the most exciting is the introduction of granita, the close relative of artisan gelato. The "Arcipelago Sicilia" area will showcase typical Sicilian granitas and raise awareness about climate change, which is pushing gelato to new and uncharted latitudes. Additionally, the fair will feature therapeutic and medicinal gelato, with the participation of renowned vegan ice-chef Maurizio Valguarnera from Palermo.
The Tradition
The MIG will also highlight its traditional events. These include the Coppa d'Oro and the "Gelato a Due" competition, where a chef and an artisan gelato maker collaborate to create a dish and dessert based on gelato. The Mastri Gelatieri award will be presented, and visitors can enjoy the Confartigianato pastry and chocolate stand, featuring numerous demonstrations and the "Una Pralina in Gelateria" competition.
The Program
In short, MIG 2022 promises to be a rich and flavorful event. The inauguration will take place on Sunday, November 27 at 11:30 AM, with the Governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Veneto region will have its own stand, where gelato will be paired with regional specialties and products. For more details, visit www.mostradelgelato.com.
