Carlotta Fabbri appointed President of Unione Italiana Food - Gelato Ingredients Group

Milan, 11 April 2023 - Carlotta Fabbri has been appointed President of the Gelato Ingredients Group of Unione Italiana Food and will chair the Group's Board and Assembly for the four-year period 2023-2027.

Born in 1984, Fabbri is the representative of the 5th generation of the family that founded Fabbri 1905 SpA 118 years ago. Carlotta Fabbri began her career in communication agencies and soon became a reporter for the Resto del Carlino in Bologna. In 2005 she joined Fabbri 1905 within the Argentine branch and in 2012 she returned from South America and held positions within all company areas, up to arriving in the Commercial and Marketing area. She currently holds the role of Digital Sales & Marketing Director.

As President of the Gelato Ingredients Group, she aims to supervise and implement the promotional activities of the sector and to consolidate relations with institutions, the media, trade fairs and associations in the artisan sector, with the primary aim of strengthening strategic supply chain and collaboration on projects of common interest. Furthermore, she will continue to look carefully at the consolidation of export development, especially towards those markets with room for optimization.

The main Italian producers of gelato and pastry ingredients are members of UIF - Gruppo Prodotti per Gelato, which together total a turnover of 850 million euros, equal to 80 percent of the entire turnover of the sector.

Unione Italiana food

Unione Italiana Food is the largest association of direct representation of the food category in the European Union and brings together small, medium and large companies producing food products sold in Italy and the world.

Born in January 2019 from the merger of AIDEPI (Association of Italian Dessert and Pasta Industries) and AIIPA (Italian Association of Food Industries), it represents 550 companies in over 20 product sectors, which employ 90,000 people and develop a turnover of over 45 billion euros, of which 14 billion in exports.
