The greatest event dedicated to promoting innovation and talent in the baking, confectionery and hospitality industries will take place in Sibiu, Romania, 23-25 March 2017, within GastroPan exhibition. 

GastroPan Competitions bring together the most talented bakers, confectioners and chefs who will demonstrate their mastery to a jury made up of world-class experts. GastroPan Competitions are divided into 3 sections (BAKERY, CONFECTIONERY and GASTRONOMY). The jury will decide who wins the Cake and the Bread of the Year 2017 trophies.

Besides supporting professional development in the field, GastroPan Competitions have the ability to bring innovative products on the market each year, boosting the sector's competitiveness and promoting bakery, confectionery and catering businesses. The performance of the contestants will be rewarded with dozens of trophies, diplomas and medals offered by the organizers, while the companies that contestants represent will benefit from free publicity in the specialized media and other media channels present at the event.


BAKERY-PASTRY│24 March 2017│Both artisan and industrial bakeries will have the opportunity to win the trophy of the Bread of the Year 2017, as this prize is yet again divided into two different categories, according to the quantity of bread produced daily and the method of bread production – artisan or industrial. Within the same competition section, the Bakery-Pastry section, contestants will enter the competition for winning prizes for the best salty pastry product for breakfast, as well as for the most amazing artistic pieces made of bread dough. The theme of Bread Dough Artistic Piece category is: ”Autumn in the Countryside”.

CONFECTIONERY│23 March 2017│Numerous pastry chefs from all around Romania competing in the Confectionery competition section are preparing  and perfecting their recipes for the ”Exotic Cakes” that they will present to the international jury. In order to win the Cake of the Year 2017 contestants will have to come up with new and original tastes, creative and tasty creations using exotic ingredients. Artists and cake decorators will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents participating in The Sugar Paste Artistic Piece and Chocolate Artistic Piece categories. They will have to create an amazing artistic piece related to the world of movies as the theme will be: ”Cinema”.

GASTRONOMY│25 March 2017│Chefs entering GastroPan Competitions will have to prepare a festive plate for 8 people consisting of innovative dishes made of ingredients of their choice that comply with the theme of this category - ”Healthy lifestyle”. Contestants having a more developed artistic spirit can show their talents in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving category, at which they will have to present an artistic piece fitting into the topic of ”Aquatic World”.


The organizers have designed the sponsorship packages available for GastroPan 2017 Competitions and companies from around the globe can access them in their quest of making their products and brands known to the Romanian experts. Potential sponsors can choose one of the four sponsorship packages: DIAMOND, GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE – and, in return, benefit from multiple advantages such as excellent promotion among contestants, jury, visitors, contact databases and many other services included in these sponsorship packages.

GastroPan international exhibition will take place in the city of Sibiu, Romania, 23-25 March 2017 and will reunite, for the 9th time in a row, suppliers and manufacturers from all over the world with specialists in the food and hospitality industry.
